Second NSW RFS Bell 412EP refurbished
Alpine Aerotech is behind the refurbishment and a multi-role re-configuration project of the service’s second Bell 412EP helicopter
A second refurbishment of New South Wales (NSW) Rural Fire Service’s (RFS) Bell 412EP helicopter has recently been completed by Alpine Aerotech.
The Bell 412EP, serial 36407, was paint stripped and re-painted as well as being equipped to meet needs of the RFS’s multi-role operations by incorporating wildfire suppression with both bucket and belly tank capabilities.
Adding an external hoist, steerable searchlight, a FLIR Safire camera, Garmin GTX-345R ADS-B transponder system and night vision goggle (NVG) compliant cockpit lighting system allows the RFS to do rescue missions during daytime and nighttime operations.
Alpine Aerotech provided several of their products to equip the aircraft for operational roles. For winching operations, it provided skid tube rub strips, cargo mirror and pulse light kit, bearpaws, and both baggage compartment and cabin floor protection kits.
