Flight Paramedic receives the 2019 Tim Hynes Scholarship award
The Tim Hynes Foundation has announced that Flight Paramedic Brent Tracy, BA, FP-C, is the 2019 recipient of the Foundation’s Scholarship award to the Safety Management Academy (SMTA)
Time Hynes was a founding member of the International Association of Flight & Critical Care Paramedics (IAFCCP). Passionate about his profession, he sadly lost his life in a rescue mission in 1998. In honour of his passion and admirable work, the Tim Hynes Foundation was established in his name, with the award being given to individuals who have made significant contributions to enhance, promote and develop a culture of safety within their work environment.
A Flight Paramedic with Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca, Nevada, Tracy was previously employed at OptimuMedicine, where he was a ‘constant advocate for safety’ according to his former employer who nominated him for the Scholarship award, Director of Business Development Jim Thomas.
As per the Scholarship award, Tracy will attend the SMTA on 4-8 August 2019 in Pittsburgh as a first-year student. The award will cover the cost of his tuition and housing for the programme.
