Unlock cutting-edge knowledge at EUROPEAN ROTORS 2023
Instructors and panelists from the industry will meet in Madrid to help elevate attendees’ knowledge
The EUROPEAN ROTORS 2023 program is full with instructors and panelists from the vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) industry.
The VTOL training program is designed to provide attendees with the latest and most valuable insights in the field. There are dozens of courses available this year as a part of the VTOL training program.
One such course is ‘Night-Vision Goggles (NVG) Training in a Simulated Terrain Environment for Helicopter Operations’. This course is designed for those involved in helicopter operations, as they use NVG to navigate through darkness. It involves participants being immersed in a simulated terrain environment where they’ll gain hands-on experience in a safe, controlled setting, allowing them to hone their skills and build confidence in challenging nighttime conditions.
Another available seminar focuses on Vuichard techniques. To prevent classic helicopter accidents, attendees will learn the Vuichard recovery, safe autorotations, quick stop, slope landings, inadvertent entry into instrument meteorological conditions, vortex, loss of yaw-control, rollover avoidance procedures and instrument scanning techniques.
These courses present a unique opportunity to put training to the test, and showcase skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
EASA Rotorcraft and VTOL Safety Symposium
Additionally, on the first day of the show (27 November), the EASA Rotorcraft and VTOL Safety Symposium will take place, focusing solely on safety. This standalone event is distinct from EUROPEAN ROTORS and requires a separate ticket.
It serves as the flagship of the EUROPEAN ROTORS conference program and features the latest rotorcraft and VTOL developments.
“EASA’s primary focus is safe flight throughout the European Union,” said David Solar, Head of the General Aviation and VTOL Department at EASA. “This event allows us to work directly with the industry’s manufacturers, suppliers, operators, and individuals. We use this show to collaborate with everyone on developing the latest and smartest safety programs.”
Expanded event
This year’s edition of EUROPEAN ROTORS is set to be the biggest yet. It is the third iteration and the first time is has been hosted in Madrid, Spain, instead of the previous location of Cologne, Germany.
This year’s event will be held on 27–30 November in Hall 9 at the IFEMA MADRID Convention Centre. EUROPEAN ROTORS is organized by the European Helicopter Association (EHA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), produced by Helicopter Association International (HAI), and strongly supported by Spanish helicopter association ATAIRE.
“The attendees and exhibitors from the first two shows taught us that we need to think bigger,” explained Christian Müller, EHA Chairman. “In addition to providing exceptional business opportunities, the purpose of EUROPEAN ROTORS is to bring the community together to exchange knowledge, learn from one another, and debate with one shared goal: to improve safety in vertical aviation operations.”
Last year’s show featured more than 211 exhibitors from 57 countries and had nearly 4,000 attendees. The organizers of this year’s show predict even greater participation in Madrid.
A variety of ticketing options have been made available. One-day passes are available for people who wish to visit the show floor and have only a single day to participate. A three-day ticket plan is available for those wishing to visit the show floor for the full three days that the exhibit floor is open.
Ticket options for attendees of the EASA Rotorcraft and VTOL Safety Symposium also include the three-day ticket plan as well as a one-day ticket option for the show floor, valid on 28 November.
