StarFlight marks major milestone with Victoria Police
StarFlight has achieved a significant 5,000 flying hours with Victoria Police's three AW139 multi-role helicopters, since the service commenced in mid-2020
StarFlight’s locally based engineers work closely with Victoria Police to provide maintenance support and technical expertise to ensure the aircraft are always maintained at the highest state of readiness.
"We're proud to be working with Victoria Police on this historic partnership," said StarFlight Australia Head of Technical Michael Richmond. "This aircraft, its mission system and the customised support solution that future proofs the capability, is a unique offering and is delivering high availability and reliability for the state of Victoria.”
Maintaining the program schedule throughout the pandemic
StarFlight delivered the new fleet on time and on budget, and through the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Our focus was to maintain a constant communication strategy between StarFlight, Leonardo Helicopters, HeliMods and Victoria Police," said Richmond. "This enabled us to monitor the frequent and significant changes in restrictions related to Covid-19 early in the pandemic and make changes and adapt to maintain program schedule."
StarFlight was created by Australian companies LifeFlight and the Linfox Group, combining aviation experience and infrastructure with the capability for logistic supply and support.
