SPAES installs medical racks in MD 902
Heli Austria’s MD 902 helicopters have been upgraded to include additional medical equipment
SPAES has completed the design and manufacture of five medical racks in the MD 902 for Heli Austria. These MD 902 helicopters are used in helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) missions and have been upgraded to include additional medical equipment, such as three essential units, two storage bags, and two oxygen bottles.
The medical rack is placed in the passenger compartment between two rear-facing seats and oriented against the flight direction. It securely holds a Defigard Touch 7 unit, a WEINMANN MEDUMAT Standard unit, and a Boscarol BSU212 OB 10000 FM MSU.
The setup is intended to ensure that critical medical devices are easily accessible during flights and offer flexible configuration options, allowing for a variable arrangement of devices to meet specific operational needs.
The rack is designed to be both robust and adaptable. The adjustable length ensures a customizable fit for ceiling attachment.
The project was completed within SPAES’ own European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 21J Design Organisation and its own EASA Part 21G Production Organisation.
Earlier this summer, SPAES successfully completed night vision imaging system (NVIS) certification of pre-installed tactical radios.
