Innovative air medical systems and equipment
HeliMods is a leading provider of aircraft special mission systems and equipment, dedicated to continuous innovation that allows aircraft operators access to the best available technology for performing critical roles
With over 20 years of experience delivering market leading air medical innovations, our brand is recognised globally for collaborating with aircraft operators and end users to develop unique and valuable solutions that are the best fit for unique mission requirements. Our track record for collaboration also extends to working with aircraft manufacturers and other solution providers to ensure that new technologies can be incorporated into existing aircraft configurations.
Over the past few years, HeliMods has extended its range of air medical solutions to also benefit the fixed-wing market. Through a strong collaborative partnership with, the well-known air medical operator, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section), HeliMods has designed the Next Generation Aeromedical Interior for the B360.
The development partnership has seen many key innovations be brought to the market, including the Fixed-Wing Powered Aero Loader and the HeliMods Connected Cabin.
FIXED-WING POWERED AERO LOADER
As the global market required the loading of stretcher systems with greater capacity, and the subsequent risk of injury to medical personnel became an increasing concern, HeliMods identified this trend and has been the first solution provider to integrate new technologies designed to load powered road ambulance stretchers at their full system capacity of 700lbs.
The HeliMods patented Powered Aero Loader allows the market leading Stryker PowerPRO XT ground ambulance stretcher to be incorporated into fixed-wing medical interiors, without the need for the paramedics to do any manual lifting, at the push of a button. This innovative technology, which was developed over several years, enables seamless interoperability between road, fixed-wing and rotary-wing assets without the need to transfer the patient onto another stretcher or manually lift them. The technology is proven to increase the careers of paramedics through reducing injuries relating to lifting and significantly reduce the time it takes to load and unload patients.
HELIMODS CONNECTED CABIN
The HeliMods Connected Cabin is a new and innovative solution that connects devices, aircraft and ground-based services together, enabling a more efficient coordination of emergency response assets while also sharing critical patient information between crew in the air with doctors and triage response teams on the ground, allowing faster and more focused emergency response and, ultimately, improved patient outcomes.
The Next Generation Aeromedical Interior for the B360 brings new innovations to the market while maintaining the aircraft capability and performance requirements of a modern ambulance service. The Next Generation Aeromedical Interior features include:
- A maintenance friendly interior for a dramatic decrease in maintenance access times
- A fluid resistant medical floor that is durable, washable and lightweight
- More than 200kg of in-cabin accessible storage provided by mission customisable storage units
- A supplemental type certificate for the interior and all associated products – the minimum standard that should be acceptable for full fleet air medical providers.

Inadvertent entry into instrument meteorological conditions is still cause of accidents; safety management systems are needed for safer operations; older fleets are harder to maintain and compete with newer models, so a choice has to be made between upgrades or replacement; the EU is responding to wildfires in member and neighboring states with rescEU; and helmets are for safety, but when they are heavy and unbalanced, they can cause problems; and we have all of our regular content on top to keep you engaged with the experts and operators in the special missions sector across the globe.
