Guatemalan Air Force acquires two 412EPX helicopters
Aircraft delivered at a handover ceremony at La Aurora International Airport
Bell Textron delivered two Subaru Bell 412EPX helicopters to the Guatemalan Air Force on 19 December. The aircraft are part of an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract between Bell and the US Army Multinational Aviation Special Programs Office (MASPO), signed earlier this year.
“We are excited to introduce the Subaru Bell 412EPX into the Guatemalan Air Force,” said Major General Henry Yovani Reyes, Guatemala’s Minister of National Defence. “The aircraft will support missions including disaster response, humanitarian relief and other utility needs.”
The Subaru Bell 412EPX has a maximum internal weight of 12,200lb (5,534kg), external weight of 13,000lb (5,897kg) and up to 5,000lb (2,268kg) of goods with a cargo hook.
The aircraft will join a mixed fleet of Bell aircraft already operated by the Guatemalan Air Force, including Bell 206, 212, 407, 412 and UH-1. The Croatian government also ordered two 412EPX helicopters in September 2022.
