DDC partners with Halton Healthcare
The company will operate a drone route between two Halton hospitals near Toronto – initially for a six-month period
Drone Delivery Canada has entered into an agreement with Halton Healthcare to establish a medical logistics route between Milton District Hospital and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. The two facilities are both located southwest of Toronto, Canada.
The contract – worth CA$50,000 – covers 26 flights between the two hospitals, over a period of six months. The route will make use of an existing helipad at the Milton District Hospital, and will be operated using Drone Delivery Canada’s Canary drones.
The route will be used to transport medical supplies and samples between the two healthcare facilities. Supplies will include blood and serum chemistry tests, blood bank materials, cytology containers, blood culture bottles, and urine cultures.
DDC previously received approvals from Transport Canada to transport medical radioisotopes by drone in Southern Ontario – the region in which the new drone route is being established.
