Bucher’s new rescue equipment gets EASA approval
The newly developed AC67 flex enables customers to convert their H135 helicopters into fully functional rescue helicopters in under 30 minutes
Swiss-based Bucher Group, which specializes in emergency medical systems, has announced that its AC67 flex – a further development upon its original AC67 equipment – has now been certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for use on all variants of the H135 helicopter.
The AC67flex enables customers such as police, transport companies or military operators to convert their H135 helicopter into a fully functional rescue helicopter without the need for tools within just 30 minutes – a short installation time that the company explains was made possible by the ‘proven quick-release system’ from Bucher Leichtbau. Both the ease and efficiency of the kit are crucial design elements for incidents calling for emergency rescue capabilities.
First kits due for distribution in 2021
“More and more helicopter operators want to be able to use their helicopters around the clock,” commented Beat Burlet, CEO of the Bucher Group. “With our equipment, we address exactly this need and make it possible to equip the helicopter for HEMS [helicopter emergency medical service] operations within minutes through the fast and flexible installation and removal system.
“We are very pleased that we have already won customers for this new product. With the successful approval of our AC67flex equipment, we are now able to deliver the first kits this year.”
