Aerial Firefighting Europe 2021: reconnecting aerial firefighters
Taking place on 12-13 October 2021 in Tallinn, Estonia, Aerial Firefighting Europe 2021 will provide a much-needed opportunity for the aerial firefighting community to reconnect, share knowledge and define strategies for the global aerial firefighting market
The two-day conference programme includes a pan-European analysis of aerial firefighting efforts and provides the latest update from rescEU on prevention and preparedness activities to mitigate the effects of disasters across Europe. Agenda highlights include a presentation of Professor Dr. Johann Georg Goldammer, Director of the Global Fire Monitoring Center, which will delve into 20 years of experience of fire management on contaminated terrains of Central-Eastern Europe and neighbouring regions.
Meanwhile, Jesús San-Miguel-Ayanz from the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Italy will present his findings on the national and international development of a Global Wildfire Information System, mirroring the scheme and activities for the set-up of the European Forest Fire Information System in the pan-European region. Zisoula Ntasiou, Fire Lieutenant Colonel at Greek Hellenic Fire Corps, will provide an overview of the forest fire operations in Greece, all managed by the Firefighting Coordination Center of Hellenic Fire Corps.
Aerial Firefighting Europe 2021 will also investigate cross-border co-operation for firefighting during a pandemic, share forest fire updates from the North European countries such as Sweden, discuss the climate change effects on forest fires in Italy, and much more. There will be a dedicated exhibition area offering technology providers the much-needed opportunity to meet face-to-face with new and existing clients and showcase their products to the global audience.
